Note: This was a student project!
Forgotten is a 2D Fantasy Roguelike with a Lovecraftian/Cthulhu inspired Theme.
Take control of the character, explore and fight monsters in a neverending dungeon. Get stronger and collect loot, while the monsers get ever stronger to provide a growing challenge. Should you die, you will have to start all over again!

Turn based gameplay in the vein of oldschool roguelikes.
You wake up in some sort of ancient ruins and the entrance is blocked! Hearing weird, monstrous noises coming from deep within, you clutch you sword fearfully and decide to press forward to find out where you are, what is hiding here and whether this is the key to finally lifting this evil curse that's been plaguing you or your final descent into madness and doom!
The second ever project I did with other students at the Games Academy, this one was a bit tougher, because our team was smaller and we had more hurdles to overcome.
In the end, we had to massively downsize the project, because otherwise we wouldn't have had enough time to get a working version that actually had gameplay.

Most of our work went into the "true random"-generator for the dungeon floors: An entire map with rooms and connecting corridors build not by us but the program, completely from scratch, so that no two runs or floors would ever look the same.
We learned never to do that again, because building and bugfixing that algorithm almost took up the entirety of the development time.

But I learned many valuable lessons here and even if it wasn't as good as the first project, it made me grow as a person and a game designer.
